[WC] Wonder Cruise Open Beta is Live

Correction: I have been educated to the fact that Wonder Cruise was not developed by Antic Entertainment. Antic co-developed Zombie Misfits with Nexon. I’m not completely sure if any other company partnered with Nexon for Wonder Cruise, but it’s possible that One2Tribe, the other Nexon iNitiative 2010 winner co-developed it.

Wonder Cruise, the cruise simulation multiplayer social game for the Facebook platform, co-developed by Nexon America and Antic Entertainment and published by Nexon America, has entered its open beta phase. The game went through a pre-beta phase in September but was not well received by the public. I can see why, too. The game was an excellent and innovative concept, but was quite boring with not much to do with the little energy in your possession which quickly got depleted during the drawn-out cruises. Repetitive, to say the least.

[ZM] [MSA] Zombie Misfits Open Beta Live + MapleStory Adventures Update 1.13

The open beta of the anticipated Facebook tower-defense strategy game Zombie Misfits has been launched by Nexon America. Zombie Misfits is being launched several months after the release of MapleStory Adventures, the successful Facebook adaption of popular 2D side-scrolling MMORPG MapleStory. Also a few months ago was the pre-beta of Wonder Cruise, another Facebook game from Nexon America. Wonder Cruise was a disappointment in its pre-beta and no information on an open beta release has yet been released.

[MSA] 3,000,000 Monthly Active Users

Great news! MapleStory Adventures, the Facebook adaption of global phenomenon 2D side-scrolling MMORPG MapleStory, has surpassed 3 million monthly active users.

MapleStory Adventures was Nexon’s first take at the social network gaming space. Their second launch is Wonder Cruise which is currently in pre-beta, open to only players of MapleStory Adventures. Unfortunately Wonder Cruise is not being well received, with generally negative reviews, but it’s not even if full beta yet so we’ll have to wait and see how it turns out.

[WC] Nexon America Reveals Wonder Cruise

Nexon America has announced its second social game for Facebook, Wonder Cruise. The game has actually been in pre-beta since August 30 but was not officially announced until now. Pre-beta lasts until September 12 and all players data will be wiped after the pre-beta.

Nexon continues its push into the social gaming space. That’s good but they need to start looking to publish more desktop MMOs.
