[PT!] PopTag!’s 1st Anniversary is Here

On January 26, 2010, it will be one year since Nexon America launched the casual arcade style action puzzle, PopTag!. PopTag! was one of the first free-to-play games ever seen on Earth when Nexon launched it in Korea in October 2001.

PopTag! has over 50 million players worldwide. PopTag! also hit what was then a world record of 700,000 concurrent users in China. PopTag! is known by many games around the world including Crazy Arcade in Korea, BnB (Bombs and Bubbles) in China and Taiwan, BnB Online in Russia, Boom Online in Vietnam, and previously BnB in Thailand before Thai service was discontinued by AsiaSoft.

PopTag! (Crazy Arcade)’s Korean success spawned the ‘Crazy’ series of games based off of the same characters, Crazy Racing Kart Rider, Crazy Shooting Bubble Fighter and Crazy Racing Air Rider.

In addition to being the 1st anniversary of PopTag!, Nexon’s iTCG Online was also launched in January 2010 and would celebrate its 1st anniversary this month. However, iTCG Online was closed down on June 10, 2010 due to structural changes at nexonova (game’s developer).

Nexon America is closing down another game. Service of MapleStory iTCG Online will be closed on June 10,2010. Nexon America blames structural changes at Nova Studio (A.K.A. Nexonova) and the inability to deliver new content for the closure.

[MSFB] 80,000 Fans

So the official MapleStory Facebook page has hit 80k fans. In comparison, Aion has 77k fans, RuneScape has 67k, Perfect World has 67k, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has 676k and Counter-Strike has 422k.

I’m sure that MapleStory is missing at least 20k “fans” who are just too ashamed to Like the game. Be pro, be a fan.

Mabinogi has 12k fans.
Combat Arms has 43k fans.
Dungeon Fighter has 9k fans.
iTCG has 1.7k fans.
PopTag! has 2k fans.
Vindictus has 8k fans.

[MSFB] 70,000 Fans

So the official Global MapleStory Facebook page has passed the 70,000 fan mark. Go click that little “Like” button NOW and do what all the cool people are doing! http://www.facebook.com/maplestory

The Mabinogi Facebook page now has 11,009 fans.
The Combat Arms Facebook page has 37,632 fans.
The Dungeon Fighter Facebook page has 6,192 fans.
The iTCG Facebook page has 1,705 fans.
The Pop Tag! Facebook page has 1,993 fans.
The Vindictus Facebook page has 5,880 fans and has only been open for one month, and the game’s beta hasn’t yet been announced.

Nexon America’s Network Maintenance

So all of Nexon America’s games will be going through a scheduled network maintenance tomorrow! I guess we won’t be playing Nexon games for between 8 (Mabinogi) and 12 (Combat Arms) hours. Here’s the schedule for MS.
