This Month In Our Past: May [2013 Edition]

Before I begin with my monthly installment of This Month in Our Past, I’d like to say a huge happy 10th birthday to Korea MapleStory, the world’s first service. On Tuesday, April 29, 2003, the public was officially introduced to Maple World for the first time.

May is probably the biggest month for Global MapleStory (and me). Sure the content hasn’t been all that spectacular and some events have been huge let downs but it was in May of 2005 that the Global service of MapleStory was launched officially. One of the game’s most powerful bosses and quite a lot of excusive content  met us this month in our past. May is also my month of birth!

April has been a quiet month of the Global service of MapleStory, excluding the ‘New Creatures, New Features’ patch of 2009 and ‘Alliance Eternal’ of 2012. Globally, however, past Aprils have been very eventful. Let’s start with Global MapleStory April events.

[GMS] This Month In Our Past: March [2013 Edition]

March never disappoints. A breathtaking milestone, not just for one of the game’s best, but for the entire Global service, a challenging new and original party quest, the opening of the 7th world, the birth of one of the game’s most powerful bosses, a highly anticipated new area with an extremely wide level range, the awakening of the great Dragon Master, a massive AfterShock, an alien invasion and more all took place during this month in our past.

March 2006

Client Version Update: 0.19
Game Update Name: ‘LUDIBRIUM!!!!!’
Game Update Date: Thursday, March 2, 2006

– Ludibrium

With monsters levels ranging over 70 levels, the highly anticipated area of Ludibrium added much required training areas for level 50+ players at a time when Maple World was a fraction of what it is now and training possibilities were small. At the time Ludibrium was the best thing to happen to Global MapleStory.

[GMS] This Month In Our Past: February [2013 Edition]

Is Lunar New Year anything to woo about? Nah, not in GlobalMS. Maybe in ChinaMS or MapleSEA, but not GlobalMS. Ooo! Valentine’s Day! Nah, nothing super special. Events and more events? Unless they’re super awesome events then we’re not that interested.  Neo City, Kerning Square and Golden Temple? Hmm, not that bad. The return of Crimsonwood Keep  PQ? Awesome!  But the awesomeness and hype was quite short lived.

This Month In Our Past: February [2012 Edition]

Oh February, poor February. All in all, February has been one of the most disappointing months f0r GlobalMS.

It’s February! The month of the Lunar New Year, small updates and disappointing content. A new world, innovative cooperative quest and more were added to the game in this month in past years.
