[GMS] This Month In Our Past: March [2013 Edition]

March never disappoints. A breathtaking milestone, not just for one of the game’s best, but for the entire Global service, a challenging new and original party quest, the opening of the 7th world, the birth of one of the game’s most powerful bosses, a highly anticipated new area with an extremely wide level range, the awakening of the great Dragon Master, a massive AfterShock, an alien invasion and more all took place during this month in our past.

– Ludibrium

With monsters levels ranging over 70 levels, the highly anticipated area of Ludibrium added much required training areas for level 50+ players at a time when Maple World was a fraction of what it is now and training possibilities were small. At the time Ludibrium was the best thing to happen to Global MapleStory.

Absolutely amazing. It was March 2009 that the Masteria Party Quest and the Interior of the Keep were added into the game. If you didn’t like this update then you need to die. One of the most beautiful moments in MapleStory history was when this update went live. I hope we’ll see more updates like this in the future. Masteria is the heart to Global MapleStory. Other updates that went unnoticed by me at the time were the Mal Volence Party Quest (event) and the buddy list expansion to 100.

March: Alliance Unbound

Alliance Unbound was surely one of the most exciting updates of the year with the release of the Resistance revamp and the invasion of New Leaf City by aliens. The alien socket system also made its debut which gave players one more way of upgrading their equips (this is a change I detest). Special challenges such as Monster Carnival and the Mu Lung Dojo went through a revamp, some for the better, some of the worse. Some long overdue changes came to the Free Market and they’re pretty awesome.

The first Day of Darkness of 2012 took place on March 19 and 20. I wasn’t able to attend, but from what I heard it was a major disappointment  Oh, back in the days when Days of Darkness used to be insanely fun.

  1. Wow, the Evan trailer has the most oferused music in Maple, however, it sounds great in the trailer!
And wow, Ludi must’ve been a godsend to those high lvl players.
And im currently doing the LHC castle quests to fight my first known-boss, Von Leon. Man,, itll be pro if i could solo him. ❤
