Inside One of the World’s Biggest Game Companies

So I’ve never been to Nexon’s Korean office. I’ve never even been to Korea. Or Asia. Or anywhere in the Eastern hemisphere. Nexon Korea moved into new offices late last year and the place looks stunning. The awesome Brian Ashcraft from Kotaku put together an inside look at the new space.

Nexon, perhaps best known for Maple Story, was founded in South Korea. Its headquarters is now in Tokyo, however. We are not going to look in its headquarters. Instead, let’s have a look in its new South Korean digs.

As pointed out by Han Kyung and GameFocus (via tipster Sang), Nexon moved into this office last December. It has fifteen floors, five of which are underground.

Over 1,500 employees work the office, which has a mo-cap studio, a fitness center, a subsidized cafeteria, a broadcasting and audio center, a daycare, bunk beds for employees to crash (separate rest areas for male and female employees) and an in-house concert/lecture hall.

  1. Oh my God… -jaw dropped-

  2. I remember reading this on Kotaku and sending this to Spadow on Tumlr. It just looked so cool, tho definetly not as cool as Valve’s place… That place is just INSANE… as if the interior architect was high when he designed it.. “Yeah let’s throw in some purple and green balls over there… and make a slide over there… and a fireman pole right there”… lolz

    And why does every gaming studio have a slide, to bring in the dev’s inner child? xD

    • This post reminded me about DFO when you archtect and the GBL library had alot of archtect. ;~;

      Picture above made me laugh tho. hehehe

      And yeah Nexon Korea oh gosh i would love to work there. Of course not as nice as valve’s but they did a dam good job.

      ———-

      But if Riot overhauled their office, i think they would prolly win. o-o.
