[NX] Karma Koin is Coming!

Zach does not like this whole ‘Karma Koin’ idea.

Experience the enlightened way to get NX! Beginning in September, Karma Koin cards will begin replacing Nexon Game Cards on store shelves. These prepaid cards work the same way as Nexon Game Cards, and will be available at retailers in the US, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. Choose from prepaid amounts of $10, $25, and $50.

Simply purchase the card where you would normally buy your Nexon Game Cards, and redeem for NX through the usual methods. For every card redeemed, Karma Koin will donate a percentage of that amount to charity.

Nexon will continue to accept Nexon Game Cards, although retailers will begin phasing them out during the transition period.

  1. Nexon America hold some werid trademarks. Wonder Cruise for example. They also still hold trademarks for audition and KartRider. And they have trademarks for Karma Koin and Karma. Maybe nexon is becoming Karma online? It’s the only way it makes sence

    • Yeah I knew about Wonder Cruise and I think it’s an upcoming social game for the Facebook platform, possibly a result of the Nexon Initiative. I wouldn’t jump to a conclusion about the ‘Karma’ trademark just yet considering that companies usually trademark related phrases when they trademark the actual phrase, ‘Karma’ for ‘Karma Koin’.

  2. SO wait you pay the same amount, but the difference is that Nexon gives like 1% of it to chairity. Why not just make a statement that from now on we will give a certain % of all nexon game cards to chairity .. sign. Waste of time and money designing the new look for the Karma Koins whe you could just say the above. Why don’t ya like em zach ?

    • Because when you walk into a store and see Nexon Game Cards you know that this is Nexon’s game card and you pick it up. When you walk in a see Karma Koin you think it’s a game card for a virtual playground for 5 year olds (like Fantage). I just think it will take a while for people to adjust to this Karma Koin thing, time in which Nexon’s sales will fall, even only slightly.

Here in the Netherlands we don’t have game cards (at least not that I know of). But what is the big deal. Only because there is a different appearance. What ever, you use the code not the card itself. I wouldn’t say to my friends.. “Guys look I just bought a game card and look how awsome it looks !”.. No, just throw it away…

  4. The new Karma Koins look sexy imo,i like the design better then the old one even though i dont have probolems walking out the store with an old one because i am a kid lol.

    • Yes, the new cards are designed much better. I would like them more if they at least had the Nexon logo on them though. Only a closer would be ashamed or embarrassed for buying a Nexon Game Card.
