[MSU] Scout Class: Introduction and 1st Job Skills

There something that I’ve always wanted to do: think up my own class’ skills, first job to fourth job. This is just for me and can just be typed in a word processor and saved on my PC, but blogging about it will make sure I keep going and not stop halfway like so many of my recent projects.

The Scout class is a thief class which uses claws but does not use throwing stars. It is all about the perfect mix of offense and defense by setting traps and summoning captured monsters like Wild Hunters do. Unlike Wild Hunters, Scouts have the ability to capture as many monsters as they want and the information on all of their captured monsters is stored in a Captured List. Here are the first job skills for msupdate’s Scout class.

  1. This is not the right section for this, please remove your post or you wil get banned.

    Lock please ..

    Sorry basil habit..
i like the job, only it has way to many 1st job skills, they are all way to over powerd .. i mean .. 372% dmg at first job, while all other jobs have skills that attack 2 times and only does 80% dmg .. i think the dmg shuold change to 180% dmg.

    I like it.,..
am i the only one that has thought of the BARD job wich wil use horns or something and can summon monsters (i love summons in every game i play that why i love mech).

and dont ya think its weird how for every game (maplestory, WoW, allods, you name it) the community has tought about the bard job and how it would be cool to have it in the game, but for as far as i know none of these games have the bard job. Why dont developers like the job ? Is it to hard to make ? 😛

    • LOL. Don’t worry. Once when I was watching some people prepare for a soccer game I heard one of them say “the post is too short, I need to extend it” and I screamed out “USING POST EXTENDERS WILL ONLY GET YOU BANNED!”. Basil habits affect even the best of us.

The thing about Bomb Plant is that it can’t really be used for regular grinding since you have to walk around dropping the bombs and then detonate them. It can really only be used in-between spawns to line the spawn area so when the monsters spawn they are like killed quickly. Also, since its MP requirement is very high, it isn’t exactly cheap to use a lot of bombs, just a few, especially not in 1st job when a good percentage of players don’t have much funding. Oh and another thing, when you see a percentage on a skill, that’s the amount of damage that a skill does in 1 attack. So if a skill attacks twice @ 80%, that’s 160% of damage. If it’s like a Scout’s Poison Dart which attacks three times at 90%, that’s 270% of damage. I actually just re-used the stats of Wild Hunter’s Triple Shot.

And about the bard, idea, I don’t know why its not developed. I guess the developers just don’t like the idea.

      • If you want to add more “difficulty” to the Bomb skill, you can make it like throwing stars, so then people would: A. Need to pay for them. B. Need to recharge them.

I have a future suggestion for a skill:
        “Monster Advantage”:
Uses a special ability of a captured monster (for example you can fly for a short period of time on a flying monster).
It might be a little to good but it can be nerfed…

        • Nah, I’ve been thinking about it and really it doesn’t need to be nerfed further. Like I said before, it isn’t something a Mapler could use for regular training. It’s one of those skills that can only be used in specific situations, and since it takes so much MP to detonate a bomb, you can’t plant that many bombs.

Thanks for the idea of Master Advantage. I was thinking about something like this for 3rd job.

  2. It is cool, but in my opinion, a class that focus about summons ONLY is quite boring. You basicly let the monsters do all the job for you.
If it was like Poke’mon it would be cool, controling the monster you summoned.
Anyway, it’s very nice, keep going!

    • Basically*

    • I agree about a class focusing on summons only is boring. However, a Scout does not focus on summons only. It is more based on setting traps for monsters such as bombs. It is also going to have regular star-throwing thief attacks also.
I’ll keep going. You see, once its public I can’t really stop without feeling guilty so I’ll definitely keep going.

      • i was always thining about a transformer ..
he could transform into different monsters .. like at 1st job he can transform into a pig, and rush in monsters ect.
2nd job , rombot .. and slam monsters and do some other weird skills
3rd job skele : do some crazy ass skills
4th job some high lv monster

would be cool if u could have it like WoW, a tank, a magic monster, a speed monster ect.

    i know about the fact that 80%x3= 240 … -,-
but i think you should make a new wep for it 😛

  4. nice class 🙂 i like it
