[NXMOB] Nexon Mobile Opens English/Global Website

Nexon Mobile is the mobile game development and publishing unit of Nexon Group, the leading worldwide online gaming company. Nexon Mobile has opened an English website dedicated to global audiences. This gives me hope that Nexon Mobile will push on with publishing further than MapleStory: Thief Edition in the West for years to come. Nexon Mobile has also opened a youtube page.

About Nexon Mobile

NEXON MOBILE is the mobile game development and publishing unit of Nexon Group. Based in Seoul, Korea, Nexon Mobile was founded in 2001 as “Entelligent Inc.” with the mission to deliver incredible games across multiple mobile platforms. The studio merged with Nexon Corp. in May 2005. We have released titles based on smash hits such as MapleStory, Kart Rider, and BnB Crazy Arcade. Nexon Mobile is pioneering Korean iPhone game development with MapleStory: Thief Edition.

Nexon Mobile originated as a university club for game enthusiasts from Kyunghee University and Korea University. The company has since become the market leader in the Korean mobile game industry, and is currently one of the most successful mobile game developers and publishers in Asia, offering a broad spectrum of creative and technical expertise.

The company’s key products are the Heroes of Three Kingdoms series and mobile versions of blockbuster IPs, such as NEXON’s Dungeon & Fighter and MapleStory franchises which have accumulated over 13 million downloads in Korea. Evolving beyond a mobile game provider, Nexon Mobile aims to be a leader in the mobile entertainment industry by allowing users to have the unlimited connection to networks and games whenever and wherever they want.

  1. i really dont understand this post .. but then is saw this : “2009.09 The Pirate MapleStory, Mobile Content 2009 Awards, Best Mobile Prize”
does this mean there is a pirate version for the mobile ?
since i see THE PIRATE …

    • In Korea. Only MapleStory: Thief Edition has been developed in English.

      • cool , does korea also have other maplestory editions , or only pirate and thief , or is thief a america exclusive like pirate is a korean exclusive , dang i would prefer pirate over a sin or a dit -_- shooting and punching is way better than throwing and stabbing 😉

        • Korea has a thief version of MapleStory Mobile. I’m not sure if it’s the same one was the English version but they do have a thief. Nexon Mobile Korea actually developed and publishes 112 games including MapleStory Cygnus Knights, MapleStory Pirate, Maple Handy World, MapleStory Thief, MapleStory 2007, Maple Mate, MapleStory Archer, MapleStory Magician, MapleStory Warrior, Maple Battleground. They also publish Discovery Life which is a puzzle game with MapleStory, Kart Rider, Mabinogi, Vindictus, PopTag!, Air Rider, Dungeon Fighter and Kavatina Story. Nexon Mobile=pro. I hope MapleStory Thief Edition does well in English so more games can come.

          • so they published 112 games , omg thats soo much o_0 and do they have all the jobs ? also aran and evan , dual blade , adventurers and cygnus ? if so , dang thats really much work for them .. dang nexon mobile korea is addicted to making mobile games IMO , how do ya know all this information ?

            • Well Nexon Mobile has been open since 2001 and mobile games are much easier to make than MMOs so they had lots of time. From the names of the MS games that they’ve released I think they’ve only covered explorers and cygnus knights so far.
I’ve known about Nexon since late 2004 when I started playing KMS. I was never just an average user, I studied Nexon and study a lot of other gaming companies that I love. I know stuff. For the actual game names I check the Nexon Mobile Korean website.

  2. msupdate :

im sorry but this brings up so manny questions up with me :
    1. dang you play kms ? how is that possible if you live in america ( asuming that since you make GMS news)
    2. if ya play(ed) kms why dont ya make KMS posts ?
    3. yeah but 112 games ( lol in the netherlands this is the alarm number like 911 in america) is still alot if ya gotta think that they make at least 1 game a month.
    4. you studied nexon ? ya preferd to study a company so you can take it down later with ya evil plans above ya school ? xD

i dont have anny intention to make you uncomfortable about ya private life so no need to answer questions ya dont wanna answer 😉

    • 1. Back then Nexon Korea didn’t require a KSSN to create an account. It was easy back then.
      2. My entire Nexon Korea account got banned in 2008. No reason we given. Since I was playing GMS actively I decided not to create another account. The only plays I get of Nexon Korea games is through my brother who’s Nexon Korea account didn’t get banned but he already uses the KMS accounts and won’t share with me. But I do get to play Vindictus Korea and Dragon Nest Korea.
      3. Yeah it’s a lot of games and more are in development.
      4. No. I studied Nexon because I know that it’s a dominant force in gaming. If I follow their example I can become a dominant force on Earth, become the president of the world and eventually take over the world. But seriously, I get curious often and when I get curious I need answers. I got curious about Nexon like everyday and found myself knowing more and more about Nexon as time went by.

      • hehe blizzard can hire you ( or anny other big MMORPG company ) to make you tell them the secrets of nexon xD
why can’t ya ask yo brother nicely to let you play xD
but how can you play vin. korea and dragon nest korea if you were banned ?
( i hate KSSN regisration thing keep getting error code 90 !!! )

        • I actually work at a major MMO company right now helping to work on a next-generation MMO.
I play Vindictus Korea and Dragon Nest Korea through my brother’s account. He already used up the MapleStory accounts but he doesn’t play Vindictus or Dragon Nest so he allowed me to.

          • ooh , no offence but i tought you were 15 , maybe because the face of the dual blade directly makes me think of the age of 15 xD
cool , at what mmo company do ya work 🙂

            • A lot of people think I’m 15 because of my Priests’ IGN “zachu95”. They think I’m born in 1995. And I work at a dominant MMO company but it’s not Nexon.

  3. msupdate :

    blizzard ? ijji ? Ndoors ?
can ya give the name please im curious 🙂
not like it can give annyone anny harm when ya give the name of the company right , and its not like i can stalk ya , im on the other side of the world 🙂

    • Since March I’ve worked at Blizzard on a new unannounced next-gen MMO.
For future knowledge: The company isn’t “ijji”, it’s “NHN”. “ijji” is just the game portal. Just as how very soon the game portal will be “BlockParty” but the company will remain as “Nexon”. They’d probably understand what you mean if you say work at “ijji”, but say “NHN” because it’s more correct.

      • ooooh okay … and NHN was like the publisher of JMS .. or something because in some other post of you , you sayd some of the publishers of maplestory in different countrys …
hehe i tought you worked at blizzard … no idea why i just tought it , so what is the MMO gonna be like ?
is it gonna be like vindictus , or more like Dragon nest , or like WoW ?
and if i may ask , what is your task … design ? code ? clean the toilets ? make the sandwiches ?

        • LMAO @ clean the toilets and making sandwiches. I’m actually part of the environment design team so I help to design the game’s world. It’s the most fun part of a team making a MMO IMO.

I don’t have the authority to reveal anything on the MMO except that it’s next-gen and is probably going to be Blizzard’s biggest game yet. But I plan on expanding my blog to cover it when it gets closer to being released.

        • And no, NHN isn’t the publisher to JMS. Where did I say that? I think you might be mixing it up with when I said that NHN Japan is the publisher of Dragon Nest Japan.

          • oh 😛
cool ya design stuff , so when im gonna play the game i wil think : woah zach made this.
            but i got a few questions :
-how did ya gotta work at blizzard , do ya happan to live nearby and walked in and say : “i need a job” or ya did it trough internet ?
-howlong have ya been working there ?
-when ya start working at the new game did ya had to promise not to tell annthing ?
-do YOU GUYS know what the game is called or is it like : “hey good morning Frank”.
            “Yeah good morning”
            “Ooh man my head hurts”
“Shut up Frank and lets work on this unknown game”
-and can’t you tell me if its something like WoW, because if they say it it wil be its biggest game ever it has to be something like WoW , but free.
-is it free or dont ya know / can’t ya say that ?
-Wil you be playing it when it’s released ?
-and if you are gonna play it do ya get something special because you designed it , or like … get to be GM ?
-or there there already people at blizzard asigned to be a GM for the upcoming game , but they just have nothing to do now ?

ooooh man this is sooo cool … you are sooo coooooooool 😛

            • 1. I’ve worked there since March. I went to the Blizzard website and saw that they needed an environment artist so I applied and got the job.
              2. I didn’t promise really but I know that I can’t tell anything.
              3. lol. A name hasn’t been decided on yet.
              4. I can’t say anything on that.
              5. That hasn’t been totally decided yet. It will more than likely be P2P but with Blizzard’s recent interest in the F2P market, who knows? That’s not my department though so chances are I won’t know if they made the final decision on this until very late in the game’s development.
              6. I more than likely will.
              7. You know I am not designing the entire game, right? I’m working with an environment design team of over 20 other people and expanding. I doubt i’ll be working at Blizzard after development is finished. Blizzard just isn’t my thing. I want to work at a smaller gaming studio that develops a big game.
              8. There are no GMs yet. The game has an extremely far way to go before it’s anywhere near to being released or GMs are hired.
